In July 2015 I became the owner of a wood! “Pop’s Wood” is a 14 acre plot of land in Hertfordshire containing a mixture of hardwoods including turkey oak, beech, wild cherry, hornbeam and hazel. A section  of the wood also has a number of softwood conifers including larch, scots pine and spruce.  My intention is to update this blog on a weekly basis (usually at end of the week) and share the highs and lows of my efforts to become a (successful) woodland manager.
